Lord Ingelram BALIOL (1175-c. 1244)

1. Lord Ingelram de BALIOL, son of Bernard (2) de BALIOL (1140-1194) and Agnes Pincheni (1149- ), was born in 1175 in Tours-en-Vimeu, Picardy, France. He died circa 1244. He married Agnes de Berkeley.

 

Agnes de Berkeley was born in 1170. She died before 22 November 1281. She and Ingelram de BALIOL had the following children:

2. Eleanor de Baliol, daughter of Lord Ingelram de BALIOL and Agnes de Berkeley, was born circa 1206 in Red Castle, Scotland. She married William de Percy circa 1234 in Red Castle.

 

The lands of Inverkeilor, or which Red Castle was built, were granted to Walter de Berkeley, the royal chamberlain of William the Lion. On Walter's death about 1194, the property passed, via his daughter, to the Balliol family - the probable builders of the first stone castle on the site.

 

William de Percy, son of Henry de PERCY (c. 1145-1198) and Isabel ( - ), was born circa 1193 in Alnwick, Northumberland. He died in 1245. He and Eleanor de Baliol had the following children:

William de Percy, son of Henry de PERCY (c. 1145-1198) and Isabel ( - ), was born circa 1193 in Alnwick. He married Eleanor de Baliol circa 1234 in Red Castle. He died in 1245. He and Elena had the following children:

4. Henry de Percy, son of William de Percy and Eleanor de Baliol, was born circa 1235 in Whitby, Yorkshire. He married Eleanor PLANTAGENET on 8 September 1268 in York. He died on 29 August 1272 in Sallay Craven, Yorkshire. He married Alianore.

 

Eleanor PLANTAGENET, daughter of John, Earl of SURREY ( - ), was born circa 1244 in Surrey. She died after 1282. She and Henry de Percy had the following children:

Henry, 1st Lord Percy of Alnwick (1273-1314). Henry, was born on 25 March 1273 in Petworth. He married Eleanor FITZALAN circa 1299 in Alnwick. He died on 2 October 1314 in Fountain's Abbey, Yorkshire.

 

Alianore was the daughter of John, Earl of SURREY ( - ). She and Henry de Percy had the following children:
