Thomas BEAUMONT M.A. (c. 1639-1710)

1. Thomas BEAUMONT M.A. (also known as [unnamed person]), son of Sir Thomas BEAUMONT Bart. (1608-1676) and Elizabeth TROTT ( - ), was born circa [Julian] 1639. He was a Clergyman. He was a Clerk in Holy Orders. He died on [Julian] 15 January 1710. He married Susan OLDYS.

 

From Burke's Peerage and Baronetage, 1896:

Beaumont - Baronet

"Sir Thomas Beaumont Knt., of Stoughton Grange Co. Leicester, who was created a baronet first by Oliver Cromwell 5th March 1657-58, and 2ndly by Charles II 21st Feb. 1661. Sir Thomas married Elizabeth, daughter and co-heir of Sir Nicholas Trott, Kt. and had:
1. Henry, his successor
2. Thomas, in holy orders, married Susannah, daughter of the Rev. William Oldys, D.D. and had four sons (one of whom only left a daughter) and had two daughters, Elizabeth: married William Hayley M.D., and Annabella."

Thomas died of smallpox at Dunmow 15th January 1710. A memorial stone in the chancel floor there records:

Admitted as founders kin to Winchester College and a Fellow in 1655/60, and matriculated at New College, Oxon, 1657. BA 1660, MA 1664, incorporated at Cambridge 1669, Vicar of Sawbridgeworth 1673, of Great Dunmow 1678m Rector of Thorley, Herts. 1690, Prebendary of Hoxton 1680, Canon of St. Paul's 1681,

2. Annabella BEAUMONT, daughter of Thomas BEAUMONT M.A. and Susan OLDYS, was born in March 1683. She was baptised on 23 March 1683 in Great Dunmow. She died in March 1776 in Upminster, Essex. She married Francis PRIOR.

 

Francis PRIOR Gent. (also known as [unnamed person]) died. He and Annabella BEAUMONT had the following children:

5. Susanna PRIOR (also known as [unnamed person]), daughter of Francis PRIOR Gent. and Annabella BEAUMONT, married Samuel HOPKINS circa [Julian] 8 January 1732. She died in 1758 (estimated).

 

Lieutenant?? Samuel HOPKINS Genteleman of Hayes, son of Right Rev Ezekiel HOPKINS (1634-1689) and Alicia MOORE (1645?-1681), was born circa [Julian] 1674. He died on [Julian] 5 July 1743. He made a will in 1754. He was. He was buried in Bucknell Church. He and Susanna PRIOR had the following children:

John William HOPKINS (1734-1780). John was born in 1734. He was baptised on [Julian] 20 May 1734 in St. Andrew's, Holborn, City of London. He was a Clergyman. He was a Rector of Upminster, Essex. and St.Mary's Westminster. He married Mary WORRALL on 13 February 1766 in St. Lawrence Jewry, Milk Street, London. He died in 1780 in Upminster, Essex. He was buried in Nave of the Church, Upminster (South Side).

Henrietta HOPKINS ( -c. 1806). Henrietta married J Tomlinson BUSBY between [Julian] 1754 and [Julian] 1758. She died circa 1806.
