Sir Gervase CLIFTON of Wilford ( -1268)

1. Sir Gervase CLIFTON of Wilford, son of Gervase CLIFTON Kt. ( -1218), died in 1268.

 

Gervase CLIFTON had the following children:

2. Sir Gervase de CLIFTON, son of Sir Gervase CLIFTON of Wilford, died in 1324. He married Amflicia SAMPSON.

 

This Gervase purchased the Manor of Clifton from Sir Gerard de Rhodes before 1272. He was Sheriff of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire 1279-1286, and Yorkshire 1286-1292. He died in 1324.

 

Amflicia SAMPSON was the daughter of Sir William SAMPSON of Epperston ( - ). She and Gervase de CLIFTON had the following children:

Third Generation

3. Sir Gervase de CLIFTON of Glapton, son of Sir Gervase de CLIFTON and Amflicia SAMPSON, died in 1316. He married Alicia de RABACY.

 

This Gervase died before his father.

 

Alicia de RABACY was the daughter of Robert de RABACY ( - ). She and Gervase de CLIFTON had the following children:

 

4	Robert de CLIFTON ( -1327). Robert died in 1327.
